LOS ANGELES (KABC) — Thousands of people are expected to take part in protests against the new administration of President-elect Donald Trump on inauguration day, Friday.

One major protest will be in downtown Los Angeles at the Staples Center, where more than 90 groups are expected to take part in a massive march and protest.

Organizers are asking people to miss work and school on Friday to participate in the protests. Among their demands are no mass deportations, no racism and respect for African-American communities under the Trump administration.

2 days from now · 55–59° Rain
Park Boulevard and President’s Way Lawn San Diego, CA 92101

WEATHER – We understand that it will be raining the entire weekend, but WE WILL BE MARCHING. Think about the 500+ people that are still camped at Standing Rock in sub-zero tempature and blizzards. We can brave some rain to show how committed we are to deafeating Trump’s agenda and the Republican Party’s attacks.

Bring rain-ponchos available at discount stores. If you plan to carry a sign know that it will get wet, but you can try to protect it with clear packaging tape or laminating. We will have banners as well.

PUBLIC TRANSIT – The number 7 bus runs down Park Blvd and will drop you off very close to the starting point on Park Blvd and Presidents Way.

PARKING – There is a very large parking lot across the street from the grass area where march begins. There is also a smaller lot next to the grass area (enter on Presidents Way)

As we approach the inauguration of Trump, we denounce all of the rhetoric he used to get to this point, but we do not have to accept it. Leading up to his inauguration we will continue to organize actions and protest and much more; keep an eye out for all that on our page.

Consider taking Janurary 20th (#J20) off work and joining us in the streets. We want to send a clear message to the Trump administration that we will not allow business as usual.

We will be gathering at 12 noon at the lawn area on Park Boulevard near the intersection of Presidents Way. There is a large parking lot across the street. We will march to the downtown Federal Building at 880 Front Street where we will end our march with speakers defending immigrant rights, women’s rights, the environment, the Muslim community, racial justice, and the LGTBQ community.
